The practice

Who reads the numbers

We come from night audits, dining-room tills, and the awkward pause in a weekly meeting when occupancy looks fine and no one can say why the week paid so little.

Compute Stackbase exists because a full house in Tbilisi can still be a poor week. Occupancy is posted every morning. Average daily rate is posted. Dining is often a separate conversation, held later, with different people. We put those conversations on one set of pages and sit in the room while they are read.

The practice began after Nino left a sixty-room hotel in Vera where Tuesday nights were sold to a portal at a rate the Friday walk-in never saw. The night audit was honest. The weekly meeting was not, because the weekday drawing did not exist. The first briefings were for colleagues. The office on Barnovi Street came later, when owners from Kakheti and the coast started sending extracts rather than asking for a coffee.

We are not a chain revenue office and not a school. Credentials in this field are the houses we have sat in: independent hotels, family guesthouses with a supra table, and dining rooms that share a building with rooms. We work in Georgia. When a briefing needs a visit, we take the day. When it does not, the session is at Level 9, 31 Barnovi Street, Tbilisi 0179.

The working approach is slow on purpose. We will not present a chart we cannot source to a column in your extract. If a month is missing because the till was closed for plaster, the page says so. Clients who want a slogan for the website are kindly sent elsewhere. Clients who want to know which weekday is quietly draining the month are the reason we keep the office open.

Rooms and channels

Nino spent nine years as a revenue manager in Tbilisi boutique hotels before she began drawing other people’s weeks. She still starts with weekday occupancy, not with the yearly average.

Giorgi Kapanadze

Working sessions

Giorgi was a hotel controller. He chairs the session so the owner, the GM, and the person who loads rates hear the same page at the same time. He keeps the argument on the chart.

Dining contribution

Tamar came from F&B control in a house with a courtyard kitchen and a banquet book. She is the one who asks for breakfast covers before anyone praises the room nights.
